SEG is committed to “inspiring the geoscientists of tomorrow”, whose mission is Connecting, inspiring, and propelling the people and science
of geophysics. Our student chapters are an excellent resource to increase interest among students in geophysics. SEG Student Chapters empower students to participate and spearhead projects that will address issues, challenges, and opportunities related to SEG’s mission of promoting the science of geophysics.

 

The Student Chapter of SEG in IIT Bombay aims to enhance the study of Applied Geophysics and bring together like-minded students who aspire to be the leaders in Geosciences. At SEG IITB Student Chapter, we organize multiple events throughout the academic year. These events include seminars by experts from academics and industry, conferences by researchers, workshops on current methods and technologies being used in industry and quizzes related to Geosciences.

 

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is Connect, inspire the people and promote the science of applied geophysics.

 

The society has more than 33,000 members in 138 countries, and 297 student chapters in 63 countries fulfil its mission through publications, conferences, forums, websites, and educational opportunities.

M.Sc. Applied Geology 1st year, M.Sc. Applied Geology 2nd year, M.Sc. Applied Geophysics 1st year, M.Sc. Applied Geophysics 2nd year, M.Tech, M.Tech. (Geo-exploration) 1st year, M.Tech.(Geo-exploration) 2nd year, M.Tech.(Petroleum Geoscience )1st year, M.Tech.(Petroleum Geoscience ) 2nd year and all PhD students.
