Syllabus

Overview, theory and observations – surface wave and body wave measurements, active source studies of crust and lithosphere, global crustal structure, deep earth structure – upper mantle, mantle transition zone, lower mantle and D”, earth’s core, mantle dynamics- subduction zones, hot spots and melting anomalies, mineral physics, seismic anisotropy, constraints on seismic models from other disciplines.
